I reckon it was the choice of living in Surrey in somewhere like here:
Or moving to Manchester and living in somewhere like this:

To the Northerners onboard, I joke, I joke, there's some great places up North.

Welcome to the NPower Championship Arsenal:
Chelsea aiming to poach two Arsenal stars Posted on June 04, 2012 by admin
Arsenal will be furious if Roman Abramovich gets his way. He is thinking about a raid on the North London club for two of it’s best performers, Theo Walcott and Bacary Sagna. He will offer them increased salaries and, more importantly perhaps, the realistic chance of winning medals.
Abramovich and Chelsea are undisputed winners in the transfer market so far this summer. We have already secured the services of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin and it looks like just a matter of time before Hulk puts pen to paper. Chelsea have already made room for incoming players by releasing others so I expect to se more action before the start of next season.
Ivanovic, despite interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona, is staying at Stamford Bridge but Jose Bosingwa may be sold or allowed to see out his contract. Bacary Sagna or Gregory van der Wiel are seen as the ideal replacements at right back and Sagna’s proven record in the Premier league might tip the balance in his favour.
Theo Walcott has only one year left on his contract and there have been rumblings that he is becoming disillusioned about Arsenal’s ambition. Chelsea would be able to boast a formidable line up that would strike fear into the heart of any defence.
It would be enough to send Mr. Wenger into an arm waving frenzy, and eliminate Arsenal from being serious competition in the league. Go for it Roman!

Which is what we need, someone to fill that gap that Suarez had to keep dropping back into last season.
