Thanks Adam! It was really fun, especially cheering my kids on. I'm their biggest fan. Litterally, everyone else is short! :)

Injury report from worlds. Got a few souvenirs I've brought home. :)

• Fractured rib, left side. (from reverse side-kick in final match)

• Right side thigh has nerve damage, numb surface, tingling, very sore under the skin. (from kick in the side of upper leg in early match)

I felt these shots during the matches, knew I'd be sore, but you never really know how badly you're hurt until after the adrenaline and action subsides. Pain and swelling the next day is when things get interesting.

This is the second time I've gotten ribs cracked this season. And we're wearing a lightweight chest protector in the sparring! Guess I need to get more shots in the ribs in the future, to toughen them up? :D

The thigh issue is really weird. My outer quad is just hanging, no control of it, real nerve damage. The numbness spread from Friday over the following few days to cover the whole side of my right thigh from hip to knee. I know it'll subside, but it's slow going so far. Feels almost like I'm going to lose balance and fall while walking down stairs; I don't have total control of my leg.

On the bright side, these past few days rest has helped my ankle swelling subside, great progress. And my back and hip is doing much better as well. Amazing how a little rest can let your body heal.

Going to go for a light walk today, will use hot soaks and showers, hoping to get back in the gym next week (will take it easy, but definitely want to get moving again).

Soon as I'm 100%, I'll get back in TKD training. Next goal is to train for my 2nd D BB. Other than that, now that I'm not competing, I'll focus any extra time to continue my novice lessons at Team Quest in Muay Thai and BJJ. I'd really like to compete at a novice-level in a BJJ tournament sometime next year.

I'm at 193.5 lbs right now. By this Winter, I want to hit my fitness goals at 185 lbs and tip-top shape. This past year, I just kept getting injured in tournaments, so I couldn't train well or consistently. I'm so anxious to get back into shape. Had I come into worlds in top shape and better-trained, who knows...Might've had a better result. ;)

This cracked rib is a real pain. Hurts whenever I breathe. I forgot how uncomfortable these were. The long-lasting dead-leg sucks too. Battle wounds, yay. :)
