Home Beer Brewers Anyone brew their own beer? I am looking for a home kit and was hoping to get some ideas on which were best. |
bottled my first brew last week. Initial taste was not bad. Once it gets some carbonation and is cold, it should be alright. What kind of kit are you looking for. All I use is a turkey deep fryer for my boiling pot, and then a bucket to ferment in. |
Well, I'm pretty much looking for a starter type kit. I dont really know the process that well, so I was hoping to brew my first few batches using a pre-purchased kit. |
what I did was found a beer recipe on line. Then went to the local home brew shop, and the lady measured and got all the supplies I needed. Went home and brewed. I've had friends that use the starter kits to get an idea of the process. |
OK, well, I guess I'll just look for one online and figure out which one includes the things I need. |
do you have a store in town that sells supplies? |
Find a local store and talk to the guys there. It is the best way to learn IMO. I brewed in college and it took me a couple batches until mine was even drinkable. A friend of mine still does it, so I go help him when ever he brews a new batch, but I'm just not in one place long enough to do it any more. |
Hmmm, guess I should look and see if there are any local places to help me out, sounds like the way to go. |
Hi, There's a small thread here; https://teamspeed.com/forums/off-top...wers-here.html I brew commercially, albeit on the nano scale, so if you have any questions you're welcome to fire them at me. You live in England? Cheers, Nik |
great thread! have been looking to start this as well! |
