Just opened the first bottle...
 

from a case of Beringer 1994 Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that I have been holding for over 13 years. All I can say is WOW! Why NOW? I plan on opening one every year to celebrate the anniversary of being Cancer Free from NHL (non-Hodgkin lymphoma) I was diagnosed with it in April of this year and started Chemo on May 22nd. I am happy to say that I have completed my therapy (six chemo treatments at Stanford University) and the PET and CAT scan revealed an all clear 3 weeks ago. Not to dwell on the NHL but I have regained my strength, my hair is coming back and all I can say is that having been through such a defining moment in my life I now look at my family, my life, my everyday with a new sense of awareness I took for granted at the age of 53. Hopefully if I can get through the next 5 years cancer free my Doctors will have considered my condition cured. Thank God we caught it early and that the cancer cells were the size of a peanut in all 6 they discovered from my initial diagnosis.
