With all the hype around the London Olympics, it slipped my mind that there's an F1 race this weekend. Might as well start a banter thread for it, I suppose.

Looks like warm, dry weather for Practice 3 and Qualifying tomorrow followed by wet and soggy conditions for race day! Should be an entertaining race!

Ill be very happy if McLaren can keep their pace up. Particularly happy if they manage to get both drivers on the podium, ahead of Alonso. Wishful thinking perhaps, we shall see.

Hamilton's been looking good in practice so far, so that's a good sign, I'd say.

Right! I hope it lasts.

want hammy to win, but wouldnt mind seeing kimi or grosjean get their 1st win of the season

I missed it but it's great to see Hamilton storming up to pole. Grosjean nabbing 2nd ain't too shabby either! Should be a great race tomorrow!

bit of a balls up from webber, when he banked 3rd he had 0.5s gap to 11th, I just knew he would get bumped out in the end

Hoping for 1. HAM 2. BUT 3. GRO tomorrow, but I fear Lotus may have the best race car out there.

1,5,6,9 for tomorrow.....looking to rack up a lot of points. I'm sure Alonso and Kimi can make the just on the FI cars and get me a rather large point haul

I would love to see Lotus pull out a victory, but as long as it's a close race I'll be happy.

Planning on getting up early to watch, but I don't have SPEED so I need a good stream online.

Anybody watch the race? It was a great battle between Hamilton and the Lotuses all the way to the bitter end!

Congrats to Hamilton for wrapping this one up and pulling a hat trick, getting pole position, fastest lap, and the win.

Very controlled race from HAM, and he's showing he's not just a 1-dimensional, flat-out-all-the-time driver. I hope he can use this momentum to mount a serious championship challenge.

I failed at this. :resent: Sounds like a good race though. Wish I could have seen it. It's going to be an exciting run to the championship.

Really wanted Kimi to win one - he will before the season ends I bet.

Anyone will be better than Alonso.

Is it just me or does this season seem a bit dull compared to just 6-7 years ago? I just can't get into F1 like I used to, and the TV coverage usually leaves me wondering exactly what happened. I think the problem is mostly the technology and that the cars are too complicated to be relatable - a return to refueling or a more open formula or something is really needed. I am really starting to prefer sports car racing these days, as (some of) the cars are pretty close to what you can actually buy in the showroom, and the tech trickles down very quickly.
