Texas Won't Be Just Another Tilke Circuit |
Did they release a picture of the track design publicly yet? |
All I have seen are mock-ups. I like this one because it shows the elevation changes. http://downforce-media.smugmug.com/p..._qtgqLnf-L.jpg |
That looks epic! Can't wait to finally get to go to my first ALMS race! |
It's already not just by the looks of it. Tilke circuits are usually setup like the following. A pretty long front straight with the start finish line about 3/4 of the way down. While the longest straight is usually is 125% longer than the front straight. Turns are usually 2nd and 3rd gear slow corners. If there are fast turns, they can be taken flat. |
The layout looks amazing with the elevation change. Reminds me a little like SPA, which is my favorite track. Let's see if the track will be ready for 2012. |

Good to hear - question is which grand stand will have the best viewing. Maybe that first corner. |
I really hope they stay on schedule and everything goes to plan... but it usually doesn't. |
^ I have faith in this project because Red McCombs is involved. He is a smart guy who gets stuff done. |
