Webber: Seb's domination will not last forever Webber: Seb's domination will not last forever - GPUpdate.net http://photos.gpupdate.net/newsnew/173703.jpg Mark Webber has reacted angrily to his and Sebastian Vettel's positions within Red Bull being compared to those of Eddie Irvine and Michael Schumacher at Ferrari in the late 1990s. During the Thursday press conference in Shanghai, those present discussed his team-mate's current stranglehold on the championship. The question related to comments from Irishman Irvine, who had described being beaten by his team-mate for five consecutive races as ‘like being hit on the head with a baseball bat’. “Absolutely f****** ludicrous question mate!” Webber exclaimed. “You've known me long enough…you've known me long enough. Five wins in a row? Yeah, but that doesn't mean... he's not just beaten me, he's beaten everyone - so no-one will turn up then! We may as well all stay at home.” He added that a strong fight back will be witnessed: “That's what a competitor does. Nothing lasts forever, that's the way it goes. Like I said, he’s doing a good job and Malaysia was close between us. So we come here and see how we go. I think…I'll stop there." |

Anyone catch the press conference? Webber: I'm happy someone other than Seb has won (I'm paraphrasing here) You gotta love the guy for calling out the elephant in the room. |
I'm going to hold out hope that Webber can pull it together. Hell, he managed to climb 15 positions in a single race. That's talent coupled with good equipment. |
regardless of whether bitterness has anything to do with it, i'm just happy Webber still speaks his mind, more than can be said for many drivers. I think after china he has proven beyond doubt he can still get the job done. |
