great thread Bonita props to you for getting this started
1. I have always been a fan of Ferrari (road cars) so I naturally gravitated towards Ferrari.
2. I have been watching F1 since '99 but I've watched almost every race since 2002
3. I don't really remember
4. Massa
5. Micheal for obvious reasons
6. Finally Ferrari have a worthy opponent
7. some of their engineers
8. Massa/Ferrari obviously

Why did you choose to support your team?
Because when I first started watching F1, being a Ferrari fan was just too cliche.
How long have you been supporting them?
About 3 years.
What was the first race you saw and who end up wining?
I can't remember which race, but I'm pretty sure it was Michael Schumacher that won it.
Who is your favourite driver now?
Lewis Hamilton
Who is your favourite driver in the history of the team? And Why?
Ayrton Senna
What do you admire in the opposite team?
Assuming we're talking about Ferrari: I admire their heritage in F1.
What does the opposite team have you wished you had?
Bernie Ecclestone's support.
Who do you think will win this season drivers' championship /Constructors Championship?
Lewis Hamilton/McLaren Mercedes

Why did you choose to support your team?
Since my earliest days as an exotic car enthusiast I have been captivated by the McLaren F1. So when I started to get into F1 racing about 5 years ago I naturally gravitated to the McLaren F1 team. Ferrari was not off my radar. I have always admired how Ferrari developed their F1 technology first and then incorporated it into their street cars. But I was not crazy about Michael Schumacher. He just pulled too many dirty tricks for me to admire him. Then came Lewis Hamilton. As a driver, he just caught my imagination. He was home grown within the McLaren system and had so much confidence behind the wheel. So my love of the McLaren F1 and my admiration of Lewis Hamilton combined to make me a big McLaren supporter.
How long have you been supporting them?
I have always been a racing fan. I mainly followed NASCAR up until 5 years ago when I started to follow F1. I have been supporting McLaren since day one.
What was the first race you saw and who end up wining?
I don't remember the first race I saw on television. But I remember vividly the first race I saw live and in person. My son and I attended the 2007 USGP at Indianapolis. It is one of my fondest memories. Of course, that was a great day for Lewis Hamilton and McLaren. Lewis took the win and Fernando Alonso - his wayward teammate at the time - took second place. From testing, to qualifying through the end of the race, it was a dream come true. Now I have Bernie Eccelstone to thank for making sure it won't happen again. Here is a pic my son took at the race. This was during Lewis’ final lap.

Who is your favourite driver now?
At the sake of sounding redundant: LEWIS HAMILTON. I have always been captivated by Lewis. Then I had an experience that kind of sealed the deal for me. Last year - through a very good friend who knows Lewis and Anthony Hamilton - I was able to meet and spend about an hour with Lewis just talking about racing and life. He was very kind and gracious. He took a bunch of pictures with us and autographed all of our memorabilia. Then he tore around in his car listening to Ice-T, just like the carefree young man that he should be. His smile was just infectious and he has a great sense of humor. He made us feel like a million bucks. We met him just after he won at Monaco and just before the debacle in Canada. After the difficulty at the Canadian GP, I sent Lewis an email through his fan club website telling him that we were still behind him and how much we appreciate our time together. I was shocked when he responded! He said that he appreciated our support and that it meant a lot to him. I honestly believe that it was Lewis that responded because he mentioned things that happened while we met together that only he would have remembered. Then he sent my son and I some McLaren caps and a replica steering wheel! That's why Lewis is our guy and always will be. Here is a shot from our meeting. I don’t think I have ever posted this before . . .

Who is your favourite driver in the history of the team? And Why?
It would be disingenuous of me to say that I favor Senna or Schumacher. While I realize their greatness, I never really rooted for them. Since I am relatively new to the F1 scene, I can honestly say that I have always rooted almost exclusively for Lewis Hamilton.
What do you admire in the opposite team?
Like I said before, I have always admired Ferrari. I love their street cars and respect their no-holds-barred approach regarding development, testing and race-day performance. They have the best management in F1. But what is interesting is that when their team principles move on to other projects, they rarely see the same success. That would indicate to me that it is Ferrari as an organization - from top to bottom - that creates its success formula. I truly admire such a team effort.
What does the opposite team have you wished you had?
There are two things that Ferrari has that I wish McLaren could get a share of. First, I would love the benefit of the doubt on almost every close call regarding penalties and sanctions like Ferrari receives. I am not crying foul just for the sake of sarcasm. To the contrary, I honestly believe that Ferrari largely has the Stewards and F1 management on their side. It is kind of like the Yankees in MLB and the way George Steinbrenner was able to manipulate the Commissioners Office for so long. Second, I wish that McLaren had that quality of management from top to bottom like Ferrari has. I believe in Ron Dennis and Peter Whitmarsh but don't see the same excellence throughout the rest of the organization.
Who do you think will win this season drivers' championship /Constructors Championship?
Being as objective as I can, I just don't see anyone beating Lewis Hamilton for the WDC. He is simply the best driver on the grid and gets the most out of the car. He has an uncanny ability to break just a fraction of a second later than the other drivers and exit the turn just a bit more explosively. That coupled with his total and utter fearlessness make him a tough cookie. It will be close, but I think that Lewis wins again in 2009. I wish that I could say that I have the same confidence in McLaren as a team. To be honest, I think that Ferrari has the edge with Massa and Kimi. I like Kov. But he just didn't support Lewis the way he should have last year. Many times he just disappeared. For example, where was he in Brazil when Lewis needed him so desperately - at the back where he could do no good. If Kov can't run at the front like Kimi does, then McLaren has a very slim chance of winning a WCC.
Final Thoughts
Let me just say that I am very happy to share my F1 passion with you great fans here on TS. Last night I read through the Brazilian GP banter thread and my heart raced just like it did last year when we shared that together. I know it was a difficult loss for the Ferrari contingency. But Hamad and his fellow Tifosi took it with grace and honor - just like the gentleman Felipe Massa. I was very impressed.
I look forward to sharing this season with you - especailly the new comers. Last year we set a goal to increase the F1 fanbase on TS. I think we have done that. I can't wait for the lights to go out and fill our banter threads with smack talk and commeraderie!

As much as I hate admitting this under the same circumstances I might of ended up supporting Mclaren I very much understand the reason why you put the fan in fanatic when it comes to Mclaren Dana. And let me add that I am just as excited if not more so for the season to kick off not only for the races but for the EPIC banter threads which we all owe a lot of gratitude to the guy who had the brilliant foresight to start them the one and only Barrister aka Dana

1. I have always admired and respected the team in Red for being 100% Ferrari! That's why!
2. Since 1992
3. Silverstone, Nigey won it!
4. The IceMan
5. Schumi.. no need to explain why!
6. You mean the opposition? If so, McLaren for being so biased and "British".
7. Support of the pundits!
8. Ferrari, Kimi inshala!
And I leave you with a couple of pics!
