Tilt Shift Effect 5 Attachment(s) Having trouble sleeping, so I opened up a few old photos in Photoshop and redid them as fake tilt shift AKA fake fake miniature. Whaddaya think? In order: Great Falls VA, Harbor in Hawaii from Hilton, Honolulu, Meadowlark Gardens VA, and Harbor in Toronto: |

Please tell me how! That's a cool effect! |
Dude, you won't believe how easy it is. Here's a good tutorial: http://www.visualphotoguide.com/tilt...iature-scenes/ Play around with the spread and intensity of the blur a lot. After applying the blur, I add a lot of saturation, contrast, reds and yellows to enhance the effect. There are tons of really cool ones on Flickr that are miles better than mine, and it's inspiring me to head down to DC and take some cityscapes and refine my technique a little. Maybe when it's not 100 degrees outside.... If you do some, post them up here to share! |
that last one didn't work out but most of those are pretty cool! |
Love the first 5! |
Thanks guys. I just figured this out last night, and I'm basically just looking through my old hard drives for pictures and messing around with them. Some work, some don't. But whenever I go out with my lenses in the future, I'm going to be looking for things I think would work well with this. I really love this style, and I'm amazed how drastically different a picture can look from the original when this is applied. As I wrote above, go to flickr and type in "tilt shift", and you'll see some really good ones! I'm sure some of the real photographers on here have been using this (and probably with real tilt lenses) for years, but it's new to me! |
That's pretty slick man. The Evos look like little toy cars even. |

Thanks for sharing the technique! I've got a bunch of cool shots from some of the wineries and stuff I went to this weekend that I'm going to try this out with. |
