New Member Introduction - Blue Mustang 3 Attachment(s) Well I've been on here for a while and I think it's time I finally introduce myself. My name is Seth and I live in the Howard County area of Maryland. I am a 19 year old that pays his own way and I pride myself in that. Although I do live with my parents, I do pay rent and pay for everything else I own/operate. I drive a 2006 Blue Mustang with a Kenne Bell twin screw 2.6L supercharger running 8.5 lbs of boost and a ton of suspension work done (Ford Racing shocks, springs, front and rear anti roll bars, Roush lower control arms). The car is lowered about 1.5in from stock and puts out around 525whp with about 475ft-lbs. It also has a Hurst short shifter and a whole audio set-up (pioneer headunit, Polk speakers and amps, kicker sub). The only exterior mods are a billet grille and BBS RS-GT's. The car is a ton of fun to drive and will kill most things short of exotics (at least around here) and everything else is just as fast as exotics anyway. In my opinion, it's setup pretty similar to a Ford track mustang. Not sure about future plans. Maybe a little more boost, but at this point, it's not about win or lose, because everyone going faster is having just as much fun :) I've never been a mustang guy. In fact, I was always kind of an import junkie (and a huge Lambo fanboy at heart) but this car has just been so impressive to me and I truly feel it is a one of a kind, or at least a member of a dying breed or muscle cars. Teamspeed seems to be the best online forum for all around automotive enthusiasts and I'm excited to be a part of the community. Here are some pictures, and I hope you enjoy! |
Welcome to TS! |
Welcome to TS. Ok, enough with that instagram shit. If you want to be a hipster buy a lomo. |
Ah another mid-Atlantic guy. Welcome. Make sure to check out the mid-Atlantic section. I also lived at home a little bit and paid rent. No shame there. I hope you're going to school though, either college or a trade. |

Cool car, welcome! |
:welcome: to TS buddy! My first 2 cars were Mustangs, and I loved them both. Words of advice so you actually stick around: 1- Have. Thick. Skin. 2- No whining. 3- We joke like men here, so don't take things too seriously. Follow those rules, and make sure to hit back; you'll fit in just fine. :) |
Welcome to TS Seth. Nice looking Mustang. |
Mustang owner and Lambo fanboy. You and member H2Oskier are going to get along so well! All kidding aside, welcome to the forum! |

Welcome to the Team.... |
Welcome aboard! Fellow Mustang owner here(New Edge GT...and ditching the Mod Motor) |
Ditching the Mod Motor? What are you goin with? |
When I get around to it...basically a similar setup I had in a previous car...LQ9 shortblock, LS3 Heads, LS9 Cam/Head Gasket(just with a Borg Warner 'hair dryer' attached to it.) That 3valve of yours is making Great power on just 8lbs...any plans to get a forged shortblock in there? |
1 Attachment(s) Welcome aboard dude, I've got a Mustang myself: Attachment 153479 Blue's the fastest color  |

To be honest with you, I have been thinking about doing a little more suspension (front lower controls, front end braces, etc.) and maybe a little more boost. But thats it for now. If the motor ever fails me, or I run into some extra cash, I've thought about throwing the Mod 5.0 in built with the Kenne Bell mammoth. My main goal is to always keep her as a sleeper and those 5.0s make some crazy power! |

Funny you mentioned the 5.0 build....my 'original' plan for my GT was to do (an extremely expensive) setup using the Ford BOSS 5.0 shortblock from DSS and trickflow heads. In short...GM powerplant setups can be had for Much cheaper and are more up my alley lol Def hook the suspension up! everything that was wrong with the New Edge suspension wise...was FIXED on the S197's lol. Go crazy and slap a built Boss setup under those heads and Let Her EAT! hehe Oh and Torch Red is the fastest color! *even when Stock, Slow, and Dirty!* lol |

Yeah, I've gathered about 50% of the stuff I need, but I'm taking it VERY slow this time...gonna focus on the good ol' 'priorities' first haha Funny you mentioned the 5.0 build....my 'original' plan for my GT was to do (an extremely expensive) setup using the Ford BOSS 5.0 shortblock from DSS and trickflow heads.
