| PorscheAudi | Apr 29, 2012 03:09 PM | I've been patient long enough...let the mods begin!! It's coming up on 8 months since I got the BOSS and 2,000 amazing miles later I can safely say that this car isn't going anywhere.I originally thought that I would replace the BOSS with a GT3 after a couple years, but I can never see myself parting with this car. That being said, I've decided to start perfecting the car a little bit more.
I plan on starting by focusing on the suspension. I've narrowed it down to the Eibach Multi-Pro R2 setup unless anyone can provide any other good options that are worth looking into... http://www.stranoparts.com/data/images/p88014145248.jpg
I've also decided to go down to an 18" BBS wheel with a little more rubber that I think fits the car a bit better. I'll likely go with a Toyo R888 setup or Hoosier R6's with 275 or 285's on all 4 corners. I don't drive it in the rain and it never rains here so I don't car about the wet. Also, the cars biggest flaw is putting the power down, so these tires would go a long way to helping that. Here is a pic of the wheel and tire setup off a BOSS 302S.. http://stangnation.com/wp-content/up...-Boss-302S.jpg
I'm also planning on topping off round 1 of mods with a roll bar made by Cool-Tech (they make parts just for BOSS and GT). http://www.cooltechllc.com/Boss/imag...r1_640x480.jpg
From what I read, those parts should stiffen the car up nicely and also shave some nice weight. Rear seat delete and bar offset, but wheels are 20lbs lighter at each corner.
I'm new to Ford, so opinions are appreciated, but please for the love of god keep the Ford vs. Chevy bullshit out of here . |
