Possible Ferrari Le Mans Prototype Spotted

Ferrari top-boss Montezemolo has recently commented that he'd like to see Ferrari competing in the top tier at Le Mans, and these new photos suggest this could become a reality soon. Seeing the prancing horse moniker competing with the likes of Porsche and Audi's entries would be real a treat for all racing fans.

This modified LaFerrari, (or at least that's what we think it is) was spotted lapping the famous Fiorano test track. Past speculation led most to believe this was the turbocharged V6 being readied for Formula 1, but closer inspection lends a strong hint this is the new Ferrari Le Mans prototype.

Ferrari may be considering a foray in GT racing, but I'd say that car was definitely built to be a test bed for the new V6 F1 engine. F1 has very strict testing regulations that would have prevented them from testing the new powerplant on track.

Guys,. THAT is NOT a Le Mans prototype race car. It is a GT body. I know we all want to see Ferrari rejoin the Le Mans prototype racing series. But that car has nothing to do with it.

These are Le Mans prototypes series race cars.

This is a modern Ferrari production GT type car in camouflage, probably doing some race testing. But basically, that is a street production supercar.

Good call. I think the excitement of the car just let it slip right past our minds lol.
