God Dammit Maserati when will u man up
more HP, change the wheels

U-Boat Commander 02-22-2012 02:38 AM

The wheels are merely an option. There are nicer ones available.

The issue with the car is not so much the HP, it's the weight. The car has a ton of get up from a roll and I think could take a 997S from a roll no problem. But the weight holds it back off the line. The next gen car needs to go on a diet and loose 300 lbs. Also, the next gen car needs the double clutch tranny. I won't buy it if it's just available in the US in auto.

Indeed losing a few lbs is a plus thing and a better tranny

puttig ferrari's new gearbox, will serve the car better

why dont they adopt some of ferrari's Technology?

Not sure what you mean. The GT motor is basically the Ferrari V8 from the 430 and the tranny (at least the automated single clutch on the 09 GTS MC and on the Stradale) is basically the same as the 599 tranny. The important parts of the car are all Ferrari. They just are last generation Ferrari and I am sure there is a reason for that. Perhaps the next generation GT will adopt the current generation Ferrari technology. Alas, we'll have to wait another year to find out since this new GT makes it clear that Maserati will not release a next generation GT until 2014 at the earliest.
