This Car Is So Classy

I've always been a fan of the 3200, it offers the complete package IMO: It sounds amazing, beautifully styled and this car has such a graceful presence. Here's a nice example, currently on sale for EUR 44k.

Huge fan as well. LOVE the boomerang shaped tail lights.

I'd rock a white one with a Kreis-sieg exhaust. Mmmmm...

:ahhh::ahhh:

That exhaust makes it sounds better than a 360modena

My father had the exact same car but with a grey interior and carbon fiber it feels like a Ferrari and very exotic too, however the only problem is that it was very problematic and over heats quickly.

It was a 2001 model and I really miss it, after that my father stopped sports cars and ever since his been driving a sedan.

I don't remember ever seeing that with those tails, interesting!

Its a ROW car, the only coupe that arrived to the U.S is the 4200GT which is the facelift.

The 3200GT has twin turbo's and sounds very loud especially with the Tubi exhaust which was an additional extra at the local dealership.

You should hear the Kreissieg on the Quattroporte. Total F1 sound from a sedan.

Not sure if it was a Ferrari motor.

jox 02-11-2008 02:24 AM

I believe the 99+ ones had the prev. gen Quattroporte TT engine and the 02+ ones had the Ferrari V8.

Thank you for the clarification, Jox but be aware that this car will really burn your pockets with the servicing and parts.

Its very expensive to maintain and I have experienced it.

jox 02-11-2008 02:27 AM

Looks SO badass.

Needs a set of sweet wheels with a lip though - the stock ones have wayyy too much contrast to the otherwise pretty aggressive design.

Wow had no idea any Maserati's had TT's fitted...

Yeah I still don't understand how anyone @ Maserati could've thought that ditching the boomerang taillights was a good idea... Such a cool and unique feature, almost a USP like the Jaeger clock in the dash.

Update: a little wikipedia research on the topic reveals the following:

The most remarkable design detail were the tail-lights, consisting of LEDs arranged in the shape of boomerang. The car was replaced in early 2002 by the similarly designed Maserati Coupé, when Maserati returned to the US market. The original "boomerang" tail-lights were replaced because they did not meet US requirements for night-driving visibility.
So the bloody Yanks once again ruined things for all of us ;)

Really like the car, too bad the maintenance are so high.

Just persuade a friend to get one, drive that. Problem solved

Haha I love it; instead of admiring this beauty some of you are complaining about the maintenance. It's a frickin' Italian sports car, they are supposed to have bits and pieces falling of everytime you take a corner. It's in Simba's rulebook.

Whiners.

j/k love you all :cheekkiss5:
