Official: No M3 CSL German car mag Auto-motor-und-sport interviewed Ludwig Willisch from BMW's M GmbH today and he is stating there will be NO M3 CSL as there is no market for it. He also mentions the same thing for any M3 touring, 1 series "M" and any type of M1 "supercar". Strangely enough, he does say there WILL be "M" versions of both the X5 and X6........... |
Bummer on all accounts... Funny to see them stepping up their game in the SUV category though, guess that's where the money is going nowdays. |
WTF? Doesn't sound right... |
That is what they say all the time in the beginning of a new model ! They say that, so people who could buy the normal M3 but prefer to wait for the CSL version should give up and buy the regular M3 to boost the sales. That is exactly what they said for the Z4 that there wouldn't be an M version of the Z4 but they made one. Believe me E92 M3 CSL is inevitable and there is certainly a huge market for it especially if they sell them in US this time... |
No CSL? M version of the X5? What are they, GM? Making cars people don't want?!? |

Wow, if this is true - it's exactly the opposite direction from where I thought M GmBH would go... |
What a horrid idea. |
