Thoughts on used m3

I'm thinking about getting a used 2008 M3 and wanted to know if this is a good idea, if the M3 has any problems at like 50,000 miles, and what are some tips for owning an M3.

Tip 1:You should know how to drive. :welcome:

Dont know when the new M3 is coming out and how long you can wait, but prices will drop then ofc.

If you are into the techie stuff, 2008 is a bad year. No A2DP, no HD based NAV, etc.

As far as driving goes, the M3 diff is so good, and the car doesn't have a lot of torque, that you have to really suck at driving to slide backwards into a telephone pole with the DSC off. I find the E39 M5 much easier to go sidways than the M3.

Realiability, as with any BMW's, I would avoid the first production year. They are so cheap new any way. They are running some crazy leases and you can probably get one for high 600's a month before tax if you do ED, and mid 700's for US delivery. And you get to spec it exactly how you want it. That is provided that you have another car. I generally do not recommend people lease cars if they drive normal miles a year and have no other cars to spread the miles.
