Exclusive:: e46 M3 CSL vs. BMW Performance Sport Seats Comparison
First side by side photos that i'm aware of. Too bad that neither are available in the US.
Check it...straight out of the box from germany and all the credit goes to Atan888 for sourcing them for his projects. Only had my p&s with me so i'm posting the smaller pics since I didnt have enough light. Both are incredibly sexy in person...

Oh the things I'd do for either one of those seats! It's really amazing that something you sit on while driving can be so damn sexy! I think I prefer the CSL seats, but if the car was a daily driver, I can't think of any pair of seats that could trump the new BMW Performance seats.

Both those seats look pretty sick.
If you like the new BMW performance seats, check out the Recaro Sportster CS. Its basically the same seats with different stitching without the side bags. They cost a fraction of the price as well...

Both seats are awesome and almost the same seats are available through Recaro. The CSL seats are a less aggressive Pole Position and the BMW Motorsports seats are the Euro Recaro Sportster which airbags are an option. Sadly enough none of the euro models are available to us in the US which is a shame! They can be had but it takes a good chunk of change and a decent wait But you can still get the US version of the Sportster CS and it will feel the same support you the same as the BMW Motorsports for quite a bit less and just no airbag. The one thing I do not like about the CSL seats that the BMW Motorsports seats offer are harness guides. Its a bummer that harness guides are not available in the CSL seats.
Anyone that is interested in the CS it is a 11-13 week wait on them unless there is someone that has any in stock.

Ok, so thanks to Dan at Speedware for parts and Terry the owner of Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley (who stayed to 7:30 fri nite to personally help build, measure, and confirm RPP/SPG rails would fit the oem CSL seat)...
Couple more photos for comparison with the rest of the recaro lineup. Notice the cushion depth and side bolsters are much less aggressive since this seat was designed for safe use with a standard seatbelt.
Was just going to use it to practice lapping the Nurburgring...
nah...this is where it belongs
