Nissan GT-R Spec-V will produce 520-hp and will cost $130,000

It’s strange how Japanese automakers, who are known for their fuel-efficient economy cars, are brewing up a supercar war as gas-prices are on a steady rise. While the new Acura NSX runs all over the Nurburgring, Nissan has finalized the performance figures and pricing on the upcoming Nissan GT-R Spec-V - a lighter and faster version of Godzilla.

According to Road&Track , the Nissan GT-R Spec-V will be powered by a 3.8L twin-turbo V6 that has been upgraded to produce 520-hp with a peak torque of 440 lb-ft. The Spec-V will also weigh in less by 200 lb for a total of 3,615 lb.

Official Nurburgring lap-times are still to come but rumors say prototypes easily achieved the 7:30 range. The Nissan GT-R Spec-V is expected to make its U.S. debut in early 2009 with pricing starting at $130,000.
