The NSX was arguably a supercar. The RX-7, Supra and 300ZX are sports cars, nothing more, nothing less.

^ that doesn't make them a supercar and their performance was no where close

These cars were also constrained by a "gentleman's agreement" to limit the power to 280bhp. The LFA and the R35 GT-R are what these cars could have easily have been during this era without the rediculous power constraints.
