The whole rear suspension/dif mount is absolutely epic!!! Is that all one-off custom stuff?

This is really shaping up to be one hell of an impressive build! I'm looking forward to seeing more progress!

WOW! That is one of the nicest builds I have ever seen! I would love to buy one and do a rebuild but not change the engine.

Thanks Alex! I should be 100% done, enjoying the car by Thanksgiving. It's been worked on 40Hrs/week since October of '07. Geesh. One 'spensive Datsun.

I actually agree with you for the most part. I've had many Zs. I've done the 350 swap and I felt so guilty. With this car, I'm also building the stock engine and it will sit in my garage on a stand, looking beautiful, with an overhead spotlight on it. With this setup, I can swap the engines back and forth in a day. Just have to have two driveshafts and trannies (of course). I looked at doing an RB26DETT from an R34 Skyline, but this chassis is really only good for 400RWHP. The SR20 that I chose will easily have that, and weighs a good bit less and is shorter, allowing for better weight distribution. Oddly, the stock engine is around 150lbs heavier than this one, and is only good for roughly 200HP with a crazy build. 250HP with a turbo. So... I thought I'd go with BOTH!

I just saw this for the first time. The car lives up to the hype so far Jared. I can't wait to see it in person.

My first thought was "wow, this is so cool, can I have it?"

Amazingly cool build. Perfect engine choice, and I love the original interior. It's awesome to see the old Japanese metal come back better than they made it, but still true to itself. Dumping chevy engines into the things is a travesty.

Can't wait to see it finished.
