Spied: New Porsche 911 GT2 5 Attachment(s) Attachment 122755 Spied: New Porsche 911 GT2 Viva la Hardcore Turbo! A harder-core 911 Turbo will rise again in form of the GT2, which is set to appear at next year's Geneva motor show. Seen here for the first time in exclusive spy-images, the new GT2 borrows the mechanical package of the new Turbo S, including its 560-hp twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine and dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A top speed of more than 320 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of close to 3.0 seconds is expected. In keeping with its motorsport brief, the new Porsche 911 GT2 will ditch the 911 Turbo S's four-wheel drive system in favour of rear-wheel drive. Other features include the new four-wheel steer system. An RS version is expected to develop upwards of 620 hp when it is revealed during 2015. That car looks amazing. |
As of now the body work is of a GT3 with a wider front and rear track, some vents, and a gurney flap. Still looks pretty good, will be interesting to see how they do the bespoke bodywork, and how well it performs. |
Looks like a GT3 Turbo at this point...which isn't a bad thing. Will be interested to see if/how the bodywork design changes. |
Looks to be sitting abnormally high or maybe that's just me, other then that looks great. |
Hmmmmm could it be an 3RS with sticker to throw us off??? Looks Ggrrrreat |
Nope, according to our spy "Those air scoops are 3-dimensional (compare a ¾-front and -rear image). The stickers are 2-dimensional. This is the real machine ;-)" |
Fap! |
Can't wait to see the final product.. And hoping for no manual option :D |
From what I know (an Italian engineer working close to them, wrote about this car into an Italian Forum, two weeks ago), this car should be the one of two RS mules working around in Germany and Italy (they go there, close to Maranello, for the electronic). The description he made is exactly the same we see in these pics. Including the air intakes. |
