5 to 1 we're done. Porsche Centerlock Conversion. GT3RS wheels. My apologies for just lurking DJ... A few months ago we completed the first stage of Project 997TT Cab. I hand picked the round of mods for this car based around the idea that it should be clean, a daily driver, subtle - but unique enough to stand out to those in the know. That being said - the first stage consisted of:
We used my wife's Cayenne to transport the parts to BBi. Appropriate right? http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5364_rev.jpg Fitting wheels and tires separately proved to be a bit of a challenge, but we were able to work it out. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5372_rev.jpg We had to use some space in the TT Cab as well LOL. TechArt Spoiler sitting passenger. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5381_rev.jpg We arrived at BBi and Joey took a quick inventory to make sure we had all the parts necessary for the conversion. The OEM Centerlock Conversion kit was purchased from Suncoast (sincerely the cheapest place around to buy OEM Parts) they did a great job of ensuring we had the PCCB specific kit as well as making sure all part#'s were accurate and fitment was correct. You can find the centerlock conversion kit pricing here http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5412_rev.jpg Quick shot of one side of the conversion kit. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5384_rev.jpg I opted to go with the GT3RS wheels because I prefer the look over the standard Turbo S centerlocks - also, how often do you see a TTCab with GT3RS wheels?? Not so much :) http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress..._5406_rev1.jpg Two last shots, stock - no mods. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5424_rev.jpg http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5436_rev.jpg Did I mention that BBi works with racecars? LOL. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5442_rev.jpg I'm not going to provide a step by step (nor could I honestly) so here's a few shots of the break down. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5956_rev.jpg http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5989_rev.jpg Joey's got forearms like Wolverine LOL from working on cars everyday. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6043_rev.jpg Throughout the breakdown Joey explained what he was doing, he really really really knows his stuff. . Deliberate, detailed, focused = in the zone. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6074_rev.jpg http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress..._5805_rev1.jpg Attention to detail:Once Joey separated the parts he dropped them into an ultrasonic cleaning machine. Not needed but always nice to know that things like this are taken care of. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6253_rev.jpg http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5895_rev.jpg PCCB's...lightweight frisbees. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5937_rev.jpg This http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_5828_rev.jpg Plus this http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...6/IMG_5842.jpg = This http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6223_rev.jpg http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6228_rev.jpg Big diff... http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6442_rev.jpg Completed. http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6653_rev.jpg Rear 3/4 showing the TechArt wing and 997.2 LED Taillights.http://www.albertroxas.com/wordpress...G_6657_rev.jpg I can't say enough about the team at BBi. Like I mentioned earlier, I've been in the industry for sometime and I've heard and seen it all - these guys are the real deal. They walk the walk and talk the talk. NOTE: This was not a sponsored project, we paid full tote just like the average consumer, we simply wanted it done RIGHT. I could've called a few places and got the work done for free or at heavy discount, but in the end I chose the place that I felt would knew the vehicle and parts best. Stay tuned for the next stage on Project 997TT Cab. |
