he has been there since the 70's and has ran their pro team for about 20 years, he is certainly in the know and i DO know that he went over there. I hope he is wrong but i dont see why he would just say something that was wrong, i didnt ASK him if it was an 8 cylinder, he simply told me. I hope he IS wrong but unfortunatly he is usually right on

A v8 is inevitable for the 911. And IMO will be a great change. There is only so far Porsche will push the 6, in fact we are seeing this now with the GT2 RS. With a V8 Porsche will be able to push a 911 farther and faster
Besides look at the V8 engine that RUF is in the process of building, it's lighter than the current motor in the 911 and has more HP. Last time I checked that wasn't such a bad thing.

The conversion from air to water cooled was a very big deal to Porsche purist....

Maybe it's my life calling to take over Porsche, and make there never be any other engine in any model other than a flat-6, or a V8. The base line Cayenne/Panamera will have a flat-6, the S's will have V8's, 911/Cayman-Boxster, flat-6 only, etc.
