New GT3 RS Info + Pics! 5 Attachment(s) Enjoy :coolpics: According to AutoExpress Feast your eyes on one of the hottest Porsche 911 models ever! Following on from the latest facelift that has graced the 911 Carrera, Cabriolet, Targa and Turbo versions, our spies have snapped the updated 911 GT3 RS. Caught testing in the French mountains with the current model, the new GT3 RS is likely to reach showrooms next year. Power will come from the same 415bhp 3.6-litre flat six-cylinder engine as the outgoing car, which will allow it to hit 193mph and accelerate from 0-60mph in around four seconds. The RS will keep the "GT3 RS" side sticker and the special coloured wheels, the decorative stripe, contrast-painted outside mirrors, rear wing endplates, and roll cage. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a high-performance sports car built by Porsche since 2003. It is often confused with the non-roadlegal racecar Porsche 911 GT3-RS of 2001 and later, which was based on the Porsche 911 GT3-R of 2000. The RS (Rennsport, or "Motorsport") is mainly a carryover of the Porsche 911 GT3, albeit it is lighter thanks to a polycarbonate rear window, carbon fibre hood and rear wing. Porsche ceramic composite brakes, which are also more heat and fade resistant than the iron units fitted as standard, are optional. Mechanically the two cars are identical, and share the same horsepower and 3.6 liter flat-six engine. |
