What's the point of headlight washers? I mean, they always put them on luxury cars. My Porsche has them. Have you ever seen a Cayman go mud-bogging? Flash down a muddy road at speed? Plow through the deep part of a muddy puddle on a dirt road? Of course not. So why does my Porsche have them but 4x4s DON'T? I did all of the above in my Avalanche last weekend and needed the things, but I've never seen one 4x4 that had them (aside from the Range Rover, which could fit the luxury car category). I've never needed headlight squirters on cars that had them and frequently needed them on trucks that I've never even seem them as an option on, even the fully loaded, luxury models. What's up with dat? http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...y/P1020313.jpg |
The point of headlight washers? Why, washing the headlights. edit - with the tires you're running, those puddles can't have been very muddy or deep :p |
Good point, totally unnecessary. I've never used mine. Hell most of the guys I know with Porsches don't even drive them in the rain. just a gimmick |
One possible use would be to clear dead insects off your headlights while on a road trip. |
In Europe I can see them being pretty important. I lived in England for 2 years, and they really came in handy with all of the mist rain and dirty roads. Just my .02 |
All cars that came with factory Xenons have them. Haven't washed my DD in about 5 months and the only thing that doesn't look like your truck are the headlights :) |

See, I don't get that. I lived in New Orleans and in the summer it rained every day. Rain cleans the grime off. |

The only thing I can't run in is sand, but I don't see that unless I'm trying. I don't "wheel" it but I spend plenty of time in the desert so big lugs aren't really necessary. |
The point? It's to dirty the rest of the car you just washed and streak your clean hood. |
