Have a DLP? Replace the lamp!

I finally replaced the lamp in my Samsung dlp after 5 years of heavy use (13,000 hours). Bought a new Philips bulb with case on amazon for $100. What a freskin difference, it's like a brand new tv. I didn't tell my wife and while watching a show she even commented and asked why it looked so much brighter and more colorful!

My bulb gave out 2x in 8 years. Finally gave up and picked this up. :)

YES! That's a sweet Set right there. A new home theatre set up is on my to do list. Luckily I've been more then happy with my 56" sammy, and now it's like new. But I could use a new theatre set up since my receiver is out of hdmi ports and it's just a pass through so I still have to run optical for sound (the sound and video hdmi receivers were an arm and a leg back in the day when I bought this)

But it's on the list after

Some new baby toys
House
New car
Etc

( funny how priorities change when there is a baby now in the picture)

Congrats on the baby amigo. :)

I've also replaced the bulb twice on my 55" Toshiba. At a cost of $250 a pop I figure I might as well just get a new TV next time too.

Dang Robert, you went all out!

Ouch, did they go completely out on you. I got an oem Phillips bulb on amazon for $100 shipped! Had it been 250+ I would have bought a new tv for sure

Replaced the light engine in my Mitsu 65" after having it less than 3 years.
Might be time to replace the lamp now, but I'll wait.
You get spoiled watching these big screens.
How did we ever manage life with a 19" b&w?

I have the same TV as Robert. Can't beat it.
