HD DVD's

Now that the format war is over they should be dropping the prices on HD DVD movies. Where is the best/cheapest place to get them now? Anyone having blow out sales? I'll start buying Blu-Ray movies when I have to

I saw some at Best Buy for about 30% off. I have seen the players for super cheap though. Xbox 360 HD DVD player for 49 bucks.

Just a question to see if I get it; now that the format war has ended, does this mean that there won't be any new hd-dvds produced? So if you've already invested in a HD-DVD player you're basically SOL?

Not sure, but I would guess that is the case. I don't think any of the major studios would continue to produce HD-DVD's.

Are they still getting new movies, or will they just continue to sell the ones they already have?

Comp USA online has HD-A3 for $80 w/ 2 DVD's in box. Circuit City has HD-A30 for $129 w/ 2 DVD's. A friend of mine just got a HD-A30 online for $130 w/ 2 DVD's in the box and 5 more free from rebate. Not sure if the rebate is still good, but check techbargains for deals.

The HD format war was the only thing I have ever been right about w/ regards to technology's with a close friend of mine.

I'm sure after this post, the company's will reverse their derision immediately.:D

they are selling unopened movies below cost. the war is over and they are trying to clear out their inventory (including new ones they continue to receive on a weekly basis). I was there a few weeks ago, and the sales clerk was saying it's insane on how much of a loss they are taking to dump them. Might as well stock up while you can because HDDVD has gone the way of betamax.
