1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV Downdraft

1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV Downdraft Lynnwood, Washington | Cats Exotics

This 1988 1/2 Countach 5000 QV # 12292 was built as a one-off special order for the ex-Denver Broncos team owner and US Steel magnate heir Edgar Kaiser. It was born and parted the Factory on December 17, 1987, touring Europe with its owner prior to coming to its first home in Vancouver, B.C. Finished in stunning and very RARE "Blu Tahiti" (#215854) over "Blu con giletti Bianchi" hides, the car was fitted with gearbox #1316 and a factory engine #1503.

Kaiser's business colleague then bought the car in 2008. The car comes with it's original tools as well as the Factory OEM wing which is available for the car. It remains in 100% original one-off livery as it left the factory. In 2011 this car was sent to George Evans Automotive and received a full reconditioning of its entire mechanical systems, totaling over $77,000.00 in receipts.

The motor was pulled and completely rebuilt to factory specs and then some making it a "Fast" and very reliable car to enjoy any day of the week. This included: new wiring, brake lines, fuel lines, clutch, exhaust, bushing, and tires - you name it it was done.

A full and detailed book of all receipts as well as picture documentation of the process of the top-notch work is included. Since its full restoration, it has traveled less then 300 miles with its current owner Roy Cats. The 1988 1/2 variant is a sought after version due to its mid-year addition of electronic climate control, lower pre 89 side skirts in a smaller version as well as multiple upgrades to the car mid-year from 1988 to 1989. It is further RARE as being a example of a "best of the best" Carberated car, commonly referred to as a 'DD" or Down Draft car. The "DD" cars had additional HP over the fuel injected cars, as much as 100HP and their sound could not be duplicated in a Fuel Injected car. Everything works in this fine example of a car, which is only going to increase in value and become a crown jewel for any collectors garage.
