Very rarely are detailing sections on most car forums anything more than a "post & brag" type setup. It's great to see details, and they often make you think, but stuff like this is what really helps members learn.

I'm glad you're seeing my mission. A lot of boards started out with good intentions, but later spiraled down to the ego driven "detail and post the work" mentality. I think posting by DIY detailers is awsome because you're sharing something you're proud of with your fellow pro- and DIY detailers. As for pro detailers, posting of work should be educational and not to increase exposure for greater profits. Every once in a while, a pro may detail an amazing car like an F40, a restored classic, etc. Those are neat to share and see IMHO. Posting before/after pictures, process of detailing, helpful tips, etc. to educate the consumer is what our responsibility, as pro detailers, should be to the board members. Not glorifying egos.
