My logo...

I've been playing with some ideas for a logo over the past couple months on and off... I want something recognizable and something that can go from artistic (flyers, graphics, etc.) to something classy for business cards (I plan on having 2, one like the current one I have, seen here & here, and another just black/white 'regular' card), letter heads, etc.

What do you guys think? All comments criticism is welcome as I want to finalize this ASAP... I'm pretty set on the two designs below but if I can tweak them in a good way I'm all for it..

PS... if this is some how a violation of rules just delete the thread please... I just want some feedback before shelling out the cash for new bus cards, shirts, etc.. Thanks.

Looks very nice! The only thing I'd do is add a thin black line to separate the L from the AD... Right now it looks like S.A.D.

I don't understand where you're talking about? The L is separate from AD and they're both attached to the circle...

I'm going to still be mobile and do a few details at my place... now I just want to update my bus cards and website and have an actual logo as I plan on having some shirts, hats, license plate covers, flyers, etc. printed soon. I'm hoping to move into a shop within a year or two

Ivan Rajic 04-24-2009 06:12 PM

Tractor never mind... the ones I posted are 2nd to last draft I have, and the new ones have the break haha... plus you made it in the one you quoted so I was thinking "wtf"... thanks

EDIT: here are the new ones...

Thanks...

Last set (for this week haha)... I made the L a bit larger and scaled down the AD since I thought the AD was too large before... thoughts...

Great looking logos. Have you tried having them at 90 degrees instead of 45?

Thanks... Looked a bit boring straight/normal and they're 30* now not 45... 45 looked a bit too 'normal' too... tacky, idk what the word is...

GrayTT 04-27-2009 02:39 AM

Looks great…
Simple and solid! :respekt:

Only issue is that at first glance it looked to me like an L.A. not an L.A.D.

Ivan Rajic 04-27-2009 03:06 AM

better or worse?

Have you considered registering your logo and name as trademarks/service marks. Could be a smart move.

GrayTT 04-27-2009 03:10 AM

like the one before it better...
cannot see the D anymore

Yes, it's definitely on the 'to do' list

If you have any questions about the trademark process, feel free to shoot me a PM. It's what I do.

Oh cool... I'm too tired to type something that makes sense now, so tomorrow I'll def. do it...

GrayTT 04-27-2009 05:25 AM

Number 1 for me...

For some reason I like #2... maybe because it looks less like writing LA...

I am no good with PS...

You mean farther apart? I'll do it at home later I'm at work now.

The left corner of the left leg of the A to start from the top corner of the end of the L

Not to sway anyone's opinion(s) but I'm REALLY liking #6

Ivan Rajic 04-28-2009 10:34 AM

After a lot of feedback, online and in person, it's a toss up between these 4, more so 1 to 3... (even more so 1 and 3... the woman really likes #3 whereas my best friend likes #1 and I'm half/half)

Yea it's not bad looking it's just that it looks too much like just letters, especially #4... #3 is a bit better

Ivan Rajic 05-26-2009 02:13 PM

Last two choice (I hope!)

Made 2nd one a bit thicker around... 1 or 2? (best to compare when saved on desktop and viewed one after the other, back and forth)

Could you post a version of it in BW only? It looks great, but TBH I was a bit confused when I first looked at it. Reason being is because there's not "recognizable" shapes in it when it's at the 30 degree angle. In a sense, it's OK because people will look at it and say, "What's that?", but most people won't stop to figure out what it is and will consider it as another abstract object that takes too much time to figure out. I know you want to make it "different", btu don't forget your target audience... the people that don't want it different. My vote is that the logo is great, but keep it at 90 degrees :friends:.

Zorro 05-26-2009 05:10 PM

I just see LA.

IMO, nothing now because it doesn't make sense at the first glance. Really, good concept and nice logo, but you're forgetting about the овца (sheep).

haha first of all, I'm not russian... yes most of their alphabet I understand and most of their language as well, but not the first sentence...

As for the logo, I don't want it to relate to anything but my name... I'm glad you say you can't relate it to anything because as it started coming together people compared it to LA Dodgers logo (some still do)... I want it to be 'nothing' and then something, just like my name is/was... yes in some form of polish as well as old latin it means to shine, or shine, or mirror like, etc., and yes I based it off those meanings, but I didn't go with lustra, or lustre, or luster, etc. rather something different, so lustr came about... now people are mentioning it more and more, so I'm hoping same happens with the logo, in that it'll be mentioned/recognized along with the name.

Make sense? (please say yes haha)
