Timbuk2 lasts forever. Hand made in San Fran as well. But I am going to check out acme made... that bag looks pretty sweet.

If you're going to ride a bike or run with it, you should get one with the "third leg", that kind of triangulates it over your shoulder and locks it into position, so it doesn't fall around you.

I know you've already answered your own question, but in terms of messenger bags for future reference the hands down, best two options on the market IMO are Chrome and Mission Workshop.

edit: I own one from both.

Mission has a similar style to ACME MADE.

I love Mulberry, maybe not the cheapest one but their quality is amazing!
