What's the best radar detector?

Im looking for a nice not very expensive radar detector. Anyone know any good websites to buy from and any advive in which radar is good at a low price?

I've used the Escort windshield mounted and now built in for over 10-years and have yet to get a ticket. I always drive fast.. It's been great to me.. Go to escortradar.com and check out the many choices and good luck!

The V1 is the best radar detector out their as long as your in the states, Otherwise I would be looking at an 9500i..

windshield mount - V1, escort 9500ix, escort redline, beltronic sti

i prefer v1 after testing it with escort 9500ix myself. the escort has more bells and whistles which didn't work for me. the red light camera alert didn't go off after database update. also, the radar was dead quiet even after going through speed traps. v1 gives false alarm a lot (even after disabling the x band) but at least it works.

if you want a cheap (sub $100) unit. Cobra is great too. I have an old cobra that works fairly well.

Hardwired V1 for sure. I can't live without the directional arrows. Haven't got a ticket yet. :spar:
