Official TPC Racing ATP:2 987 Turbo Release Jessup, MD: February 23, 2009 After months of dyno testing and R&D our ATP:2 update is officially available for the 987 Turbo application. Utilizing 6 larger injectors and a flash tune(rescaling) we are able to further refine the drivability and power output of our 987 Turbo System. The stock Cayman ECU restricts stock load to 100%, our ECU Rescaling adds new markers for 130%, 145%, 165% and 198% of load. These numbers correlate to H/P of the mass air flow meter. The stock mass air meter is now capable of 585 rwhp with a headroom value of 25% additional as we use a closed loop configuration. The rescaling of the ECU changes the stock ECU to one like an OE 997 TT box. The standard ATP:2 system is available at $9,990. Along with the new ATP:2 Setup this allows us to explore more significant power upgrades. Starting this Spring TPC will offer 2 engine options to be coupled with our ATP:2 system: 3.7 and 4.1. The 3.7 liter engine is designed from the ground up using a 3.4 block. With lower compression and forged internals, this turbo specific engine will be rated at 600+ HP. For those want supercar numbers, the 4.1 liter engine will be rated at 700+ HP. The two engines will be available on a block exchange. Quick turnaround is available with exchange. This technology will allow us to proceed further with other NA Porsches IE. 997 V2. For more information please contact TPC Racing: sales@tpcracing.net 410-799-Race |
Very impressive numbers! |
I'm guessing the 3.7L car might make a better all round car? |
That is going to be one fast Cayman! |

This is probably one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" questions, but I'm guessing gas milage goes way south with the 3.7L motor, not to mention the 4.1L motor. |
Our 3.7 is sitting on an engine stand in the shop(can install until after a few mag articles are done). Our 3.4t with the new programming averages 31-33 on the highway at 400whp... so depends on how you drive it. Casey |

Whoa, that's not bad for 400whp! |
Casey, I'm guessing there will be some development time on the 3.7 and 4.1 motors. Any idea when they will be ready for purchase? Tony |
I see that the 3.7L is built from the 3.4L but is the 4.1L built from the 3.4L also? |
Will also be built out of the 3.4... We are really reinventing the "top" part of the engine and working with the stroke as well... it is not just a simple re-bore as the engine is not capable of that displacement without a near complete rethinking. |

After we send our car to excellence we will be installing our 3.7... I would say late april for the 3.7 and mid summer for the 4.1. The 4.1 will be for a client not our own shop car. |

That thing has gotta be a blast to drive. How much is traction a issue? Alot of pedaling needed in second or not bad? J |
You should come down and go for a ride with mike... would be good to have people here on the board with some unbiased experience. |
The design edition is almost done the install and is about ready to go to the dyno! Another showed up this morning for the full treatment! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/another2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/another3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rkin/under.jpg 3 in the cue behind this one! Very exciting times around here. |
3 Attachment(s) Lots of building goin on around the shop... The silver car is being built for a canadian client that is planning on doing some enduro in it... very exciting and will be a great test to running our kit under the most extreme situations. Doing some more testing on our shop car, trying to get every ounce of power out of it. |
Wow, look at the red beast, Got Wing ;) ? |
