Bomb on plane -- if you've ever wondered
 
Richard Reid had his shoe bomb, there was the liquid scare a few years ago, etc. If you've ever wondered exactly how little explosives it takes to catastrophically damage an aircraft in flight take a look at this:

well but it`s not to be taken lightly either

the problem is that at higher altitudes there is a great pressure differential between cabin pressure and the actual pressure outside the cabin.
As everything in nature strives for balance,the air wants to expand to compensate the pressure difference :
which means that the cabin expands too...and in case of a sudden compression this might be ugly
now imagine something exploding in there...like hot air expanding rapidly..doh..no fun:D
