Lamborghini has announced the schedule for the new school year and it looks like it's all field days at the track for the students. Yes, the Lamborghini Academy dates for 2009 have been set and courses are open to all car nuts, not just Lamborghini owners. How uncharacteristically democratic of the luxury sports car maker.

The entry-level course is called the Track Academy and instruction take place at various race tracks around Europe. At the wheel of a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 with an instructor (a qualified professional driver), students are taught basic handling skills on the all-wheel drive Lambo. Specifically, participants learn tricks on how to manage over-steer or under-steer, practice maneuvers without any electronic assistance (ABS or ESP), master controlled drifting and how to find the most efficient racing line on the track.

Graduates of the Track Academy can move on towards the top-level Advanced Academy which uses the Gallardo LP 560-4 and the Murciélago LP 640 to teach participants how to really boogie on the track, with telemetry gizmos inside the vehicle to show you exactly what you're doing right or wrong. Courses start at 3,900 euros including accommodation but not travel.
