Gallardo seats uncomfortable? Any fix's.

Little background, think I sold the viper want a Gallardo. Definitely going used, a 05 most likely. I had only sat in the newer cars in the past and they seemed pretty comfortable for a good drive.

But I get in a 04 today and the seats feel like granite, no stuffing and no real side bolsters, maybe just used to the viper.

Did they change them some where along the line in the production cycles that I should know about. The dealer claims that you can have them re stuffed with softer material but this seems counter intuative, its not like there is a lot of padding down there to restuff.

I haven't heard of any base seat differences. Was the "newer" one equipped with optional seat? Could be suspension as well?

You can certainly change seats or re-upholster. I'd take the opportunity to change the seats. A pair of like-new seats can be found for $5k on ebay.

The newer one had the quilted seats which seem to be the cause of the softer seat.

I just took a ride in a 05 today and it's kind of a mute point though at 6 1' with 13 size shoes on I just don't fit. Never been in the driver seat just the passenger. Its tight and a little claustrophobic.

Kind of a little upset its been a dream and I guess in the past I have just overlooked how cramped it is. I did sit in the 360/430 and there are really nice definitely more room but after my last F car I am not really interested in doing that again. Back to the drawing board I guess.

I did get to sit in a Diablo VT, I actually fit but it looks like the 80's vomited in the cabin. Looks like I am back to Porsche as I cannot find a Morgan Aero 8 in the color that I want.

Try an R8. completely diff seats, same as my TT actually. Very comfy. just got done with a drive to Savannah, Ga (from Memphis) they are just plush enough, but still supportive. did the drive in 2 stints, 6 1/2 hrs to ATL 4 hrs to Savannah, on the way back stopped in Birmingham (6 1/2 hrs) then did the rest the next day.

Thats on the list to try, going to be hard to find then the Gallardo in my price bracket but might be able to get a bit more cash together. Ford GT is another option. Hope one shows up to the Carlsbad meet tomorrow so I can see on in person.

The cheapest option would be to just chuck a pillow on the seat!
