Aston Martin invests heavily in Newport Pagnell site

Anyone who knows their Aston Martin hertitage will realise how important the Newport Pagnell site is to the brand.

In 1924, the first Service Department of Aston Martin - while under the stewardship of founders Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford – was set up, and in 1950, David Brown bought the Newport Pagnell site and used it for service and also factory production until just a few years ago.

Now, Aston Martin has seen fit to re-invest in the premises and develop it to become a contemporary servicing facility as well as setting up a new dealership.

The entire project will take two years to complete and will cater for the servicing of not only older Aston Martins, but also new models as well.

The Works Service site has around 530 years of experience in its ranks and currently looks after the service and restoration of about 2500 cars from over 30 countries each year.

Any Works Service restored cars will be able to be sold through the new dealership at the site, ensuring the utmost care in bringing the classic Aston Martins back to their former glory.

Also instituted is the new Works Tailored department which will allow cars of any age to receive bespoke treatments including new colours, interior materials and finishes.

Director of Aston Martin Works Service, Kingsley Riding-Felce, was clearly ecstatic that Newport Pagnell will continue its rich company heritage.

“The ability now to invest in our buildings and bring them to the same high standard of our knowledge and skill is very exciting indeed,” said Mr Riding-Felce. “This integrated plan also sees some key additions to both the team and indeed its capabilities to cater for the customer demands of the present and future.”

Works service is a bit of a dump compared to Gaydon and the showrooms.

This is a much needed renovation.
