Aston Martin to Discontinue Virage Models

When we tested the drop-top virage a few years ago, we were immediately smitten by the lovely addition to the Aston Line-up, but it seems we were in the minority. In regards to the drop-top version, we noted it’s not the quickest soft top in the world but the Volante variant is an out and out feelgood car. See our full review here -> Teamspeed Drives the Virage

Reports from our mates across the pond at Carsuk.com suggest Aston is axing the Virage from its line-up after an extremely short run producing just over 1,000 examples.

"After a lifespan of no more than eighteen months – and with just over 1000 cars built – Aston Martin has decided that there are just too few buyers who feel the Virage is enough of a step up from the DB9 to warrant the extra cost.

It seems that the Virage is going to be dropped in favour of a new, more powerful DB9. The new DB9 will get similar, more aggressive, styling to the Virage and sport a bit more power, but not so much the new Vanquish is threatened."

Stay tuned for more updates soon.

Great looking car, but way over priced when compared to the competition.

I'm not feelin the Virage anyway! It's way overpriced in my opinion! Makes good sense for it to be axed now that new Vanquish is about to unleashed!!!

^This. The DB9, Virage, DBS, and Vanquish look so similar. I'm surprised they even made the Vanquish.
