Apple becomes the world's most valuable tech company.
 
Reported (rather poorly) here.

Apple, the maker of iPods, iPhones and iPads, overtook Microsoft, the computer software giant, on Wednesday to become the world’s most valuable technology company.

In intraday trading shortly after 2:30 p.m., Apple shares rose 1.8 percent, which gave the company a value of $227.1 billion. Shares of Microsoft declined about 1 percent, giving the company a market capitalization of $226.3 billion.

The only American company valued higher is Exxon Mobil, with a market capitalization of $282 billion.
It's rather nice when the best products, eventually, win.

But don't worry, I'm sure we'll have multi-button mice and viruses... any day now. :friendlykick:

Good for them! I remember buying my white eMac when I re-enrolled in school many years ago, and my old school laptop as well ... I even remember typing on a beige tower Mac my first time through college in 1994!

Crazy stuff ... too bad I hate Snow Leopard and the iPhone OS (he says, typing this on a new Snow-Leopard-running Mac).
