Safari Won't Go Online. Nor Will iTunes. On my iMac, the stupid thing wont go online and comes up with this error message. " Not Found The requested URL /forums.index.php was not found on this server. " ( substitue /forums.index.php for any website ie: /mail/ for gMail. ) Also, iTunes can't connect to the iTunes store. |
Are you still connected to your wifi or ethernet connection and have you tried to renew dhcp? |

There's no "going online" with Safari. If you have a network connection, it works. If you're getting a "not found" error, the browser is connecting to the remote host, and just isn't finding whatever it is you're looking for. Almost smells like a DNS issue either with your machine or your ISP, but I can't say for sure without some more information. |
I found " Web Proxy " had been checked in the network preferences, i unchecked it and now it works. No idea what a web proxy is or why i would have checked it. |
