Wheels, springs and clears. In love with my car all over again...

Well, I’ve fallen in love with my car all over again…

After contemplating the options for some time, I went with the OZ Ultraleggera 19” in satin black from Tire Rack, and painted the caps to match
I installed H&R sport springs, and clear side markers.
I have to talk about the springs before I get ahead of myself. I’m one weird anal mofo ~ I was so worried that the drop would be too low, or that the ride would be too harsh, or that it would bottom out like a high school Honda.

Or bounce like this

or this...

(or worst of all, this)

The ride with the new spring install is absolutely remarkable. I don’t know how else to describe it other than what has already been said. Yes, it should have come like this from Porsche. It feels like a real sports car again, not so fluffy, but just perfect. When I first put the key in the ignition, I could tell the ride height was a bit lower, it seemed REALLY low at first. Started the motor and took off… at first I thought the ride quality was smoother than the factory springs that were just removed, but after a 150-mile jaunt this morning, I can tell ever so slightly that the car has been lowered. (and I do mean slightly)

And to think about how worried I was about how the ride quality might be affected; don’t be a dumb ass like me, it should be the first mod done to a Porsche, period. I love it so much, its like a brand new sports car again… I can’t get the grin off my face.

I started research from a thread posted by “Jack GT3” from member “Carrera Mike”. After reading that thread, I had to find more. I found another thread from Eric, who had pointed another member with similar questions, to “cannaga”. This read went on in such depth about coil overs (if any of you are wondering if you should install coil overs, read that thread), Bilstein should be paying cannaga a royalty for his thorough, concise, non-biased approach to the topic.

I decided to risk it anyway, since I don’t have any sort of track nearby, that the sport springs alone might do it for me. I did understand that if I was not satisfied in anyway with the springs, I would purchase the PSS10’s. “Not gonna do it”, this ride is as it should be, perfect.

I love it. I bet you are giddy like a school girl now. Ever thought about changing the badge on the back to 911? would look nice in black.

Nice choices, the wheels and drop really finish the look of the car!
