Report: Next-Gen Porsche 911 Turbo to feature four-wheel steering
We've reported to you on numerous occasions this year about Porsche's upcoming 911 Turbo, based on the new 991 platform, but today we are hearing that four-wheel steering will be added to the new turbo flagship.
Worldcarfans notes, or rather translates for us from the German magazine AutoBild, the new turbo will be affixed with a four-wheel steering system that will make the all-new model more nimble than its predecessor, the 997 turbo. Little is known about the system, but it will likely work with the car's all-wheel drive system.
As we have previously reported, the new turbo's engine details still remain elusive, and rumors have suggested the new turbo could feature a triple-turbocharged flat-six with approximately 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp), but its more likely we'll see something to the tune of a 520bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six engine. Either power-plant will be connected to a seven-speed manual or an optional PDK transmission, which should ensure this is one of the world's fastest, living up to the 911 Turbo legacy.
The car will reportedly be introduced in the fall of 2013, before going on sale in the spring of 2014.

hm i dunno what to think about it...I would suppose 4 wheel drive doesnt work really well going sideways, but porsche never failed adapting new technologies to sporty driving. Are we sure there is gonna be a 7speed MT? Again I would suppose to say that a 6speed would better deal with this massive torque...
