Any issue's I should know about on 458
 
Just wanted to know if there are any major issues with the 458 , be it gearbox, engine etc. Looking to trade my Porsche in and order a car for next year.

Hmmm so far so good on my end. But if you are switching over be cognizant of operational costs such as insurance and maintenance (oil changes alone are worth a fortune).

2012 and newer include 7 year maintenance/annual service.

Looks like it is a well sorted car now. What's the build quality like? Looked fine in the showroom, but how does it last in everyday use age?

That 7 year maintenance program is only offered for models 2011 and above so if you are planning on getting a used 2010 458, expect a lesser warranty. You also have to plan for the future when the 7 years is up too. Tires I am pretty sure are not covered as well along with the rims so if either of those needs to be replaced, you are looking at a expensive bill.

The transmission is trash. There are plenty of owners who've had their boxes replaced multiple times. Ferrari made a big mistake going with getrag. AMG uses the same box in the SLS and they set up the software for slow shifts for a reason, the engineers were not confident in the trans holding up under very fast shifting, and the Ferrari is setup for short rapid changes. Probably by the time the Scud version comes out the issues will be sorted out.
