458 Scuderia

Chatting to the dealer today, he said the 458 Scud will be a track only car.

Seems odd. Has anybody heard similar / different?

I dont see why ferrari would do this as will make the car far more limited. They also always run GT4 varients which are track only.

That's what I thought. Dealer said they believe the Italia is extreme enough for the road, and they are going to run FXX-style programme for the 458 Scud.

Like I said in my original post, this information seemed odd. But who knows where they're going with all this.

So I thought I'd ask if anybody on here had heard anything similar, or had heard anything to contradict what the dealer told me today.

I got an idea... since the 458 is already just as fast as the Enzo, Ferrari are just making the "scud" version the NEW Enzo... just kidding.

Agree... Maybe the guy in the dealership got confused with the 458 challenge due next year.

To my understanding the track only cars that Ferrari produce today are under the FXX program, the XX program or the Challenge series... everything else is a street goer

No way will the 458 scud be a track only car. Most salesman have no idea what they're talking about until they get a booklet to read to customers.

That sounds highly possible! I definately asked him about the Scuderia though.
