Ferrari FXX-K to Make Rare Appearance at Winter AutoFest

One of 40 ever made, Ferrari FXX-K takes part in popular annual Lakeland, Florida, event February 21-23.

It’s not too often you’ll see a Ferrari on the road. Outside of places like Miami, Los Angeles, or Atlanta, the most likely occasion may be your local cars and coffee. Yet, while there are more than a few 458s, 812 Superfasts, and GTC4 Lussos out and about, Ferrari has made some truly rare rides over the decades.

One of them happens to be the FXX-K. Only 40 were made by designers Marco Fainello/Flavio Manzoni, and all were meant for racing in Ferrari’s XX Program. If you happen to be in Lakeland, Florida, from February 21 through 23, though, you’ll see one of those rare machines on display during the Carlisle Winter AutoFest Lakeland.

“I’ve been in and around cars my entire life, I love them all,” said Carlisle Events co-owner Lance Miller. “Every now and then you see a car that really knocks your socks off and that’s the case with this Ferrari FXX-K.”

The Ferrari rolling into Florida happens to also be one of 10 with its original body. That alone has added $1 million to the original $3 million it was purchased for back in 2015. It’s been in the United States since 2019, where it first appeared at the 2019 Casa Ferrari affair in Pebble Beach, California, to celebrate Scuderia Ferrari’s 90th anniversary.

‘You really need to see and hear the Ferrari FXX-K in person. It’s amazingly stunning.’

The car itself is an engineering marvel. Overall, it weighs just 3,296 pounds and is powered by a hybrid powertrain with 188 horsepower electric motor. On the gas-powered side of things, that performance jumps to 860 horsepower. Four is a popular number with this car. The brakes are carbon ceramic, of course there are four of them. The suspension operates through its four-wheel independent mid-engine, there are four driving modes to optimize track usage and there’s even an active aerodynamics system. Overall, the FXX-K was developed to give an uncompromising experience to the driver.

Immediately after arriving in the United States from Ferrari about one year ago it was featured at the 2019 Casa Ferrari event in Pebble Beach as part of the tribute to the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari. Needless to say, its pedigree is well worth the price of admission in February.

This car is just one of many displays taking place during the three-day event. Carlisle Auctions is offering a two-day, 400+ collector car auction, there are special guests like TV host and builder Lou Santiago, famed Corvette restorer Kevin Mackay, GM Certified technician Paul Koerner, and racing legend Herb McCandless. There are special displays too, like the 42nd annual NCRS Winter Regional Meet, and a spotlight of 1970 cars.

“I was blown away with how amazing this car looks and sounds,” said Miller. “You really need to see and hear the Ferrari FXX-K in person. It’s amazingly stunning.”

And should you want a Ferrari of your own, Carlisle Auctions will also host a 400-lot auction during the festival.
