Where's a good place to take my wife for a weekend?

Honestly, I'd suggest virginia, but you'd mention you already been here, so it makes sense to go somewhere new. From dc to the blue ridge, there are so many amazing places to go here within an hour or 2. And almost everything to see in dc is free.

If she likes the outdoors, just pick anywhere in Colorado. You can stay at the Broadmoor hotel, in the heart of Colorado Springs. You can hike at Seven Falls, check out Pikes Peak, when my wife and I went there last June, it was snowing at the Peak. Garden of the Gods. Weather will be mostly sunny in June.
My wife and I like to take weekend trips to Granby, just outside of Winter Park Ski resort. Granby and Grand Lake is there, we'll go to the hot springs in Sulfur Spring. Rocky Mountain National Park is not too far away.
Any ski resorts is a cool place to visit in June. You can visit Glenwood Springs, a lot of outdoor activities, horseback riding, hiking, etc..
Here is a picture of the Broadmoor Hotel.

Actually the coolest place I have ever stayed in the mountains was Devils Thumb Ranch. It's about an hour outside of Denver in Frasier outside of Winter Park. They have 5000 acres and it spectacular.
