headphone questions..

hi guys!
i'm about to purchase a closed-ear headphone for my ipod.

i've been thinking about getting either Audio-Technica ones or
Sennheiser ones, but i can't decide between these two brands.

anyone have any experience with A-T or Sennheiser products,
please chime in. I did try out A-T CM7ti earpieces before
and i loved how they sounded.

thanks in advance,

min

ahem check the FS section

lol

Well with Sennheiser you are looking at HD280pro for your closed solution. Audio Technica is obviously much broader with the closed phones. Rememer though... out of the iPod a W series AT phone is not going to sound that great. Just not enough oomph.

I'll make is easier for you.

Tell me which gen ipod you will be using, how much you want to spend, and what type of music you will be listening to. I'll give you your options as far as closed cans go.

you music is going to be distorted anywhere past 50% volume on there.

don't go all out. get whats comfortable. Go to a specialty sound store and check out what they have to demo and take some for a test drive.

if you are going to be using your gen 2 shuffle for most of your music dropping a lot of money on headphones (vs earphones etc) is a waste since the shuffle doesnt have a powerful enough amp to drive nice headphones.

AKG 26p (if you can find them) would work very well for you. Lots of bass and the are cheap.

sennheiser px 100 are great at $50

koss porta pro (uber retro but great sound) $50

The first AT that I would recommend (i havent heard anything below it) is the ES7 but that is close to your top end and I really don't see a reason to pour money down that end of the music delivery equation just yet.

I hope this helped.
