A few years ago in NM, a man with a ccw permit rescued a woman at walmart as she was being stabbed to death. The video says otherwise but according to my ccw instructor, Randy Glover, who also instructed the hero, it was a .40s&w. If I recall correctly, there were 3 shots, 2 solid body hits and one to the head. There seems to be a delay in the beginning of the video as viewed from my iPad but it is the security tape with news commentary.

Incredible story and thankfully she wasn't accidentally hit (the angle in the video is incredibly scary in that regard).

No, he wasn't prosecuted so far as I know. He was a 72 year old hero IMO.

He was not prosecuted and every once in a while the lady takes him to lunch as a thanks. If I had been the mayor I would have given him a medal.
