Old meets New

I bought my first pistol at 14, an M1911 made in 1918. It will always be my favorite. This week I decided I must have it's clone, the new M1918. I'm amazed how timeless John Moses Browning's design is. Damn near 100 year old perfection:

Too many.....I had no idea what I had as a kid and shot it every chance I could. It's unbelievably smooth with a great crisp trigger but from now on it's officially retired.

That is great. I love the 1911 - it is a total classic. You can't really improve on perfection.

That, IMO, is what a handgun should be like.

So you bought a M1911 in 1918, and bought a M1918 in 2009?

Awesome looking guns.

How much would the M1911 be worth if you hadn't fired it as often?

Let's see.....that would make me 104yrs old. Damn, no wonder I feel old. I'm not a collector, but it seems M1911s in the shape of mine will go for maybe $2K, great condition can be much higher.
