My 'Magnus Walker' 1966 Porsche 911
Here's the new addition to my garage. A fabulous 1966 Porsche 911 that is an ex-Magnus Walker car. What makes it particularly rare is that it's here in the UK...
Chassis #303503 is an early 1966 car. The engine has been rebuilt with larger 2.2-type pistons and cylinders and combines Solex cams with Weber carburettors. There is a taller fifth gear for longer journeys. The car still retains the original matching numbers engine and gearbox cases and both could be returned to their original configuration without much difficulty - but I'm not after a garage queen, this is for enthusiastic driving on sunny days and short driving breaks in Europe with the Gentleman Drivers Club.
There is a short shifter on the gear change and later vented-type discs at the front as well as Minilite wheels all round. I'll be collecting it after Christmas, can't wait.
Sorry about the small images, but I'm posting via Teamspeed iPad App and it's limiting maximum size to just 57kb.

Before Magnus owned the car, a lot of the work was done by ANDIAL. For example, Kevin at ANDIAL built the gearbox. Dieter (the 'DI' in ANDIAL) sorted the front vented brakes and helped get the engine tuned. The Engine and heads were done by a German Swiss gentleman who used to do Ferrari F1 heads back in the 60's. He now apparently works for Cosworth USA building Champ/Indy motors.
For a car that's over 45 years old, it pulls brilliantly through all the gears and handles superbly. The lowering hasn't effected its ride in terms of crashing over bumps either. I'm very excited to be adding it to my stable - hoping it doesn't snow now!
